Duties of a Charterer’s Agent

1. Ensure vessel’s USCG COC is in good order

2. Oversee Electronic Notice of Arrival (ENOA) submission to National Vessel Movement Center (NVMC)

3. Liaise with terminal regarding berthing schedule, inventory

4. Relay terminal pre-arrival formalities

5. Arrange surveyor boardings

6. File CBP documents

7. Update port authorities on ship schedule (USCG, CBP, terminal, pilots, tugs, surveyors, etc.)

8. Tentative order of pilot, tugs, mooring, CBP boarding, others required

9. Forward vessel’s Notice of Readiness (NOR) tender to terminal, other concerned parties (i.e. harbormaster when applicable)

10. Confirm order of pilots, tugs, mooring, CBP boarding, others required

11. Board the vessel on arrival, meet with Captain, enter vessel with CBP, attend key meeting, relay necessary information to charterer

12. Monitor cargo operations, 2x daily updates minimum

13. Oversee Electronic Notice of Departure (ENOD) submission to NVMC

14. Tentative order of outbound pilot, tugs, mooring

15. Request, sign, dispatch bill of lading for loading operation, clear vessel with CBP

16. Board at completion, sign, dispatch cargo documents
